the cabin of a boeing 787 at a boston airport. it was preparing for its next flight no. one was injured. a mechanic spotted smoke rising from the back of the aircraft at logan international airport. the plane had flown in from japan. all 172 passengers and 11 crew members had disembarked. firefighters found flames coming from a battery pack under the passenger's compartment and put out the fire. the battery starts the auxiliary power unit. it supplies electricity while the aircraft is parked. investigators from the ntsb are looking into the case. the 787 is boeing's newest aircraft. japan airlines began flying it on some routes late last month. japan's transport minister has ordered emergency inspections on the batteries of all 787s in their fleets. >>> the world's leading electronics makers are unveiling latest ultrahigh definition tv" las vegas. they are taking part in the largest electronics show that will kick off on tuesday. japanese companies are introducing the tvs in a bid to win market share back from south korean rivals. it has four times as many pixels as standard hdtvs. sony

know more straight ahead. the time 7:31. >> thank you. new in just a few hours the new boeing dream liner jet will take off from san jose's airport for the first time and just moments ago the faa wrapped up a news conference tied to the growing concerns about the safety of that type of jet. we are live from the airport in san jose. good morning. >> reporter: good morning. all over san jose international airport there are signs advertising the airline, ana, it's flight to tokyo. it takes off at 11:45 a.m. in the last hour we were able to learn about the investigation in to the air craft that will be flying that route. the faa and the department of transportation announced at a news conference that they will be conducting a major review of boeing's 787 dream liner's electrical system. this week a flight on ana had to be canceled because of brake problems with the plane. that followed a fuel leak that happened on a 787 that had to cancel takeoff in boston and prior to that on monday a dream liner operated by japan airlines experienced a fire in its battery. the head of the department o

.9%. yesterday's big loser among industrial stocks was today's winner: boeing. the company was out defending its marquee plane, the dreamliner 787, after three issues in as many days this week. shares rebounded 3.6%. volume doubled. today the chief engineer for the program expressed confidence the 787 is safe. the other big winner in the sector was industrial equipment maker danaher. shares are at an all-time high after the firm raised its financial forecast for the fourth quarter. among the health care stocks rallying was medical device maker stryker. it makes replacement knees and hips. preliminary quarterly results were encouraging after a recent slowdown blamed on weakness in europe. shares moved up to a new 52 week high. u.s. sales had been under pressure as well from insurance companies becoming more conservative in paying for elective replacement surgeries. the fight for clear-wire is on. clear-wire is a wireless broadband technology company. sprint owns half of the company and has offered to buy the rest, but dish network topped sprint's offer, as dish continues moving toward offering it
